I have three young adult children. It fills me with so much joy to watch their lives unfold and watch them find their paths and make a difference in the world. I enjoy cooking and reading and my favorite place to be is in, on, or near water. Being by a mountain stream, river, or lake fills me with peace and tranquility.
Over the past year I have had a strong calling to minister to children and their families. The eighteen months has been such a time of uncertainty and isolation. During this time racial inequity and social injustice has also been brought into the light. Children get mixed messages from so many sources. They need to know and experience the love and faithfulness of Jesus.
What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make? I am so excited to share God’s love with the children in our church and in the community, and to help them develop a close relationship with our Lord and Savior. Whatever trials we face in life, having faith in God’s mercy and grace gives us security and hope. I am also excited to build friendships with the CUMC family and members of the Crozet community.
What are you passionate about? I have been a teacher for 30 years and I am passionate about working with children and helping them to grow physically, cognitively, emotionally, and spiritually. I am also passionate about music. I have been a piano teacher for 35 years and am blessed to be able to use my gifts and talents with music to teach children. Music is such a powerful way to learn, worship, praise, and pray.
What do I like most about Crozet UMC? I grew up in Charlottesville and have lived here all of my life. I am so excited and blessed to be called to Children’s Worship at Crozet United Methodist Church!
